Meyrick Douglas is Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of Prudential Financial, Inc., with responsibility for the Company’s global risk management program. As Chief Risk Officer, Meyrick will reports Prudential’s Vice Chairman and be accountable to the Risk Committee of Prudential’s Board of Directors. Prior to this role, Meyrick served as Prudential’s Chief Auditor. Prior to joining the Internal Audit Department in 2021, Meyrick was the Deputy Chief Risk Officer and Global Head of Prudential’s Operational Risk Management organization, while also overseeing the Company’s insurance and model risk management programs.
Meyrick joined Prudential in 2013, as Chief Market Risk Officer, and led the development of the Company's model risk management infrastructure, risk appetite framework and enterprise stress testing. From 2006 to 2013, Meyrick held various positions at Morgan Stanley, including Chief Risk Officer for the Fixed Income Division. Previously, he was head of Market Risk for Corporate and Structured Credit at BNP Paribas, in London, prior to which he held senior market risk management positions at Credit Suisse.
He began his career in actuarial finance with the Old Mutual group in South Africa. Mr. Douglas earned a Bachelor of Business Science degree in actuarial science from the University of Cape Town (South Africa) and an MBA from INSEAD (France).
