Genworth

Mark “Blake” Hodges was appointed as Genworth’s Interim Chief Risk Officer by the Board Risk Committee and Genworth’s CEO in November 2021.


Previously, Blake served as Deputy Chief Risk Officer for Genworth and its U.S. Life business. In his most recent role, Blake provided oversight to execute required activities and shared services for Genworth’s overall ERM program (i.e. Risk and Regulatory Reporting, ORSA, etc.). Additionally, he had responsibility for all risk management activities within the U.S. Life business, to include insurance, operational, technology, model, market and emerging risks.


Blake has nearly 20 years in the financial services industry, including prior roles as Head of Operational Risk, overall ERM Program Leader, and Risk Regulatory Reporting (including inaugural program and process for Genworth’s ORSA Report). Blake’s experience also includes prior roles in support of financial reporting systems, building risk management, assessment and monitoring, as well as business audit, testing and quality assurance programs.


Blake holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Decision Support Systems from Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech). He also is a recent graduate of Dartmouth’s Tuck Global Executive Leadership Program.


Blake currently serves on the Branch Board of Management for Richmond YMCA.


Blake, his wife and two children reside in Richmond, Virginia.
