Jonathan Porter | Executive Vice President, Global Chief Risk Officer at Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated Jonathan Porter is Executive Vice President and Global Chief Risk Officer for Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (RGA), a role that incorporates both management of RGA’s global enterprise risk management and corporate pricing oversight. He has deep insights into RGA’s global business, having previously served as Chief Pricing Actuary of International Markets and more recently as Senior Vice President, Global Analytics and In-Force Management, which he continues to lead. He is also a member of RGA’s Executive Committee. Before joining RGA in 2008, Jonathan worked for Manulife Financial for almost 15 years, where his last position was Chief Financial Officer, U.S. Life Insurance. Jonathan received a bachelor of mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA).

Andrea Doss | SVP and Chief Risk Officer at State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company
Andrea Doss is SVP and Chief Risk Officer of State Farm® Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. In her role, she has responsibilities for enterprise risk management, enterprise compliance and ethics, and information security. Andrea joined State Farm in 2006 in the P&C Actuarial Department and has served in a variety of leadership positions in risk and compliance. She was named Vice President – Enterprise Risk Management in 2021 and assumed her current role in 2024. Andrea received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Iowa, with a minor in economics. She also received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Iowa, with graduate certificates in Leadership and Finance. She holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations.

Klaus Diem | Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer at Nationwide
Klaus Diem is SVP – CRO at Nationwide. He leads the enterprise risk and capital management functions overseeing the company’s approach to identifying, assessing, aggregating, and optimizing its risk profile. Klaus joined Nationwide in 2005 and has served as the Director of Investments Operations, Investment Professional within Enterprise Portfolio Management, and Chief Financial Officer – Planning and Administration for Nationwide Investments, with additional financial leadership responsibility for Nationwide Innovation. Prior to joining Nationwide, Klaus held several positions at State Street Bank in their Insurance Outsourcing practice. Klaus is a member of the Board of the Risk Institute at The Ohio State University. He is an executive committee member of the North American Chief Risk Officer Council (NACRO), where he cochairs the Strategic Risk Committee. Klaus earned his BS in business administration from the University of Kansas.

Ophelia Usher | Head of Strategic Risk Management at Guardian Life
Ophelia recently joined Guardian Life as Head of Strategic Risk Management. As part of this role, she leads Guardian’s effort to evolve emerging risk management capabilities. Prior to Guardian, Ophelia served insurance and non-insurance clients preparing for strategic risks or supporting active crises while at McKinsey. In addition, she previously led crisis management and business continuity at Bridgewater Associates, and she led various risk-related projects while at Goldman Sachs, Deloitte, BCG, and the New York City Fire Department. Ophelia has also published on risk-related topics such as compound risks, existential risks, the role of the board, and managing in extreme uncertainty.
