Philip Melville | Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer at Brighthouse Financial

Philip Melville is Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer at Brighthouse Financial. In this role, he is responsible for oversight of the company’s risk profile and risk management activities. He also serves as Chief Economist at Brighthouse Financial, responsible for developing the company’s macroeconomic and market outlook. Prior to his current role, Phil was Chief Market Strategist and Head of Credit for the company’s investment division. 

Phil joined Brighthouse Financial from MetLife, where he served as Chief Market Strategist. Prior to joining MetLife, he was Head of Credit Research and a high yield portfolio manager at U.S. Bancorp Asset Management. He also held various fixed income and credit analyst roles at New York Life, Credit Suisse Asset Management, J.P. Morgan, Prudential Investments and Mutual Benefit Life. Phil holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Hofstra University, a Master of Business Administration from New York University, and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Jordan Adams

Jordan Adams | AVP, Model and Third-Party Risk at Nationwide

Jordan Adams is AVP, Model and Third-Party Risk and has been at Nationwide for 13 years. In Jordan’s role he oversees the Model and Third-Party Risk programs within Enterprise Risk Management. He is also currently overseeing the implementation of Nationwide’s Enterprise AI Risk Framework.

Since joining Nationwide in 2011, Jordan has held roles in enterprise risk management, actuarial risk, quantitative risk management, and internal audit. Jordan possesses over 17 years of model risk, internal audit, and financial modeling experience. Jordan is a graduate of the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds the Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF).

 

 

 

Anita Afandy

Anita Afandy | Director of AI Governance, Model Risk Management and Enterprise Fraud at Allstate

Anita Afandy is the Director of AI Governance, Model Risk Management and Enterprise Fraud at Allstate. She is a strategic and versatile risk leader, with over 18 years of experience in the risk management and audit verticals. At Allstate, she specializes in the evaluation, governance, management and reporting of artificial intelligence and model risks, as well as insurance internal and external fraud.

Prior to joining Allstate in 2016, Anita worked in risk management and consulting at Accenture and Crowe Horwath, LLP. She completed her undergraduate at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and MBA at University of Chicago.

 

 

 

 

Tahmina Rajib

 

 

 

Tahmina Rajib | Head of AI Governance and Risk Management at Guardian Life

Tahmina Rajib is the Head of AI Governance and Risk Management at The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian). In this role, she leads cross functional teams in assessing AI models/systems to ensure they are in line with company values and risk management framework.

Prior to joining the Enterprise Risk Management team in 2022, she held various leadership roles within Guardian’s compliance/law department. Tahmina has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, including leading broker-dealer/investment adviser compliance teams.

Having worked across legal, compliance and risk, she has extensive experience navigating complex insurance and securities regulations and implementing new requirements across the organization. Tahmina is committed to a comprehensive AI risk management approach that fosters innovation while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and responsible use of AI.

Tahmina holds a BA in Psychology, MA in Clinical Psychology and a Juris Doctorate degree. She is certified as an Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) through the IAPP.
