Council Members

Rahim Hirji is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and Global Leadership Team and is responsible for the Company’s Enterprise Risk Management framework, including the independent oversight of risks across the organization.

Prior to his appointment in 2011 as Chief Risk Officer, Mr. Hirji was the Chief Financial Officer for the Canadian Segment and previously headed Manulife’s Global Asset Liability Management Operations. He has also held various financial and actuarial roles in various operating segments.

Mr. Hirji holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, the Society of Actuaries, and is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
