Guardian Life

Michael Slipowitz is Senior Vice President and Corporate Chief Actuary and Risk Officer of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. His responsibility for actuarial functions across Guardian and its subsidiaries encompasses valuation and reserve adequacy review, product development and pricing, ratings agency relationship oversight, participating policy dividends, economic capital modeling, hedging and reinsurance program oversight and actuarial staff development.

 

Mr. Slipowitz began his career at Guardian in 2008. Prior to his tenure at Guardian, he served as Corporate Chief Actuary and Head of the Closed Block business division at the MONY Group and as Chief Risk Officer for U.S. operations at AXA Equitable.

 

He graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

 

Mr. Slipowitz is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) of the Society of Actuaries, and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
